Abstract

Vascular diseases of the brain represent the most important medical and social problem, since they occupy one of the first places in the structure of total mortality and disability of the population in Russia. The purpose of this work was to study the demographic indicators, structure and risk factors of cerebral stroke according to the territorial-population Stroke Register of the Republic of Komi. As a result of the study, it was found that women predominate in the group. The first place among the risk factors for ischemic acute disorders of cerebral circulation is arterial hypertension, among patients with arterial hypertension there is a significant predominance of women. Patients with hypertension are significantly older than patients without it. The same can be said about patients with cardiac pathology. Acute disorders of cerebral circulation according to the ischemic type occur 10 times more often than in the hemorrhagic type. Thus, the number of strokes detected in the Komi Republic is gradually decreasing. Mortality from a stroke as a whole also falls slowly.
