Abstract

The problem of substitution of interbody defects after surgical treatment of inflammatory diseases of spine remains actual. Widely used nowadays bone transplants and also implants of porous nickelid of titanium and ceramics have its disadvantages reported in the article. Used by the authors during the treatment of patients with specific (tuberculous) and nonspecific osteomyelitis titanium mesh, filled with crushed bone transplants, showed its advantages. Sufficient stability of ventral spondylodesis with the use of the mesh and biological inertia of the current implant were recorded in the process of surgical treatment of purulent spondylitis.
