Abstract

The aim of the work was the comparative study of antibacterial activity of methylene blue solutions, applied in photodynamic therapy (PDT) depending on their pH-level. The maximal PTD antibacterial activity was observed in relation to Klebsiella pneumoniae using 0,05% methylene blue buffer solution with pH 8,0; with tendency to its intensification with pH 9,0. The rise of pH-level of methylene blue solutions alongside with growing effect on membrane of gram negative microorganisms led to the shift of absorption spectrum of radiation to long-wavelength part.
